What you can expect to learn
Hypnosis is experiencing a modern day resurgence and can work very effectively in today’s busy practice. Thumbsucking, bed wetting, headaches, anxiety, depression and back pain are but a few of the very common problems family physicians manage every day. The workshop will introduce you to basic concepts of modern medical hypnosis and teach you how to apply them in your medical, dental, psychological, or counseling practice.
Both the seasoned, behavioral fellowship trained primary care physician and the physician in training will learn techniques for common problems that can be used in their next day practice. The clinician also learns techniques to deal with some of their own personal issues. Current changes in the health care system add new stresses to an already hectic life-style; self-hypnosis can create a quiet island. You will learn specific, practical techniques that will help you quickly induce hypnosis. It will teach you to use suggestive science to improve emotional and physical health and eliminate fear in medicine, surgery, and dentistry, which will enhance patient satisfaction.
Program Objectives
- Introduce various techniques of producing hypnosis
- Review the indications, contraindications and limitations of medical hypnosis.
- Allow the clinician to begin using hypnosis and formulate suggestions for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes for pain modification, produce hypnoanesthesia and improve psychosomatic illnesses.
- Emphasize the incorporation of emotional and spiritual concepts into daily care.
